After our tour guide picked us up from the ride, he took us to a hidden waterfall. The place was so dry, you would have NEVER imagined a waterfall and a creek would be running in the middle of the mountain. It was gorgeous.

Costa Rica Part VI
Our last full day was very painful for Jon. He didn't want to get up, he didn't want to go water rafting but since he insisted we go rafting when we were planning - we had to go. We didn't know the difference between Level 1-2 and Levels 3-5. Since we had never gone river rafting we wanted to go on a Level 1 - but little did we know that Level 1 was just river floating haha! Despite the hot weather, it was definitely an experience. We saw monkeys, tons of honey combs, eagles on the hunt for food, we saw tons of lizards, and even 2 crocodiles!!

... and as we were leaving - Jon runs into a rock and breaks his big toe nail....

Costa Rica Part V
Wednesday we didn't do much since Jonathan was a red fried shrimp. We called a shuttle to take us up the mountain for breakfast, we covered him in aloe and he laid the morning hoping to feel better. We ordered room service for lunch and I forced him to come on our sunset sail (that we had already paid for). He put a long sleeve shirt on and we left. Our driver took us to Panama Beach where we took off.

Once again - sailing was SO RELAXING! I was in heaven. We were drinking champagne, playing card games, talking, watching dolphins, accompanied by a beautiful sunset.

Costa Rica Part IV
Tuesday was a double activity day! In the morning we went sailing and snorkeling and in the evening we went on an ATV tour where we ended up at a private beach. We were all prepared, we had our 100 SPF sun block, our waterproof camera case, our waterproof pouch, tennis shoes and sandals and much more for a full packed day.
We sailed to Eggs Beach on the Kuna Vela Sail Boat. It was the most relaxing thing ever! I could sail everyday if I had a boat, if I knew how, and if I didn't have a job haha! It took us about an hour to get there and at first I was really scared to jump off the boat and swim in the middle of the ocean and snorkel. Fortunately the had flippers my size and noodles for all the girls since we were all scared to jump in the ocean.

Jonathan was in the ocean for a long time - maybe two hours - and because he didn't reapply sun block, by the time we were back in land we has SUN BURNED.
Our ATV tour guide was 2 hours late (which sucked) but the tour was so incredible, we almost forgot about it! We went through mountains, creeks, and very tight spaces. We even ran into a heard of cows, but we just honked at them and they knew to move to the side! It was so comical! There were times that we would go so fast that you couldn't see anything from the dirt that the ATV in front of you would pick up. The views were incredible, unfortunately it was hard to keep up with the dirt in your eyes and the turns to try to take pictures of the scenes. This was definitely one of my favorite activities because you were able to see secret spots and the true beauty of the tropics. By the time we arrived to the beach, Jonathan and I couldn't stop laughing at our faces and how dirty we were. When we arrived back at our hotel we jumped into our pool first.

Costa Rica: Part III
Monday was FUN!!! We were up early, had breakfast up the mountain overlooking the ocean where Blue Jay's joined us for breakfast. The tour guide picked us up and took us to Buena Vista by the Rincon de la Vieja Volcano. On our way to Rincon de la Vieja, we took a detour and observed how two bulls turned a bar to ultimately squeeze the juice out of the sugar cane sticks. It was interesting, especially after they made us taste the sap from a coconut tree which was their wine and the juice from the sugar cane.
At Buena Vista we went horseback riding, took a mud bath, went into the hot springs, slid down a natural water slide, and ZIP LINED! I even zip lined upside down on the last canopy.

Costa Rica: Part II
Sunday we walked 3 km to the next beach over: Playa del Coco. The hike was intense, especially in 90 degree weather plus high humidity, but I wanted to do it, so we did! It had lots of shopping and restaurants near the beach where we ended up hanging out almost every night! We booked three more activities while we were there, enjoyed more pina coladas and the nice weather.

After walking the strip and having lunch we took a taxi to the hotel instead of walking it again. We were napping while all of a sudden we hear lots of banging on our roof. I slowly open the door to see what it was and slammed the door again because 15-20 monkeys were on our roof! I of course was amazed so I took a dozen pictures of them until it was time to get ready and head back out for dinner. We went to Zi Lounge where I had Costa Rican Taquitos with shredded beef and cabbage, they were delicious!

Costa Rica: Part I
The trip there was insanely tiresome... We both worked Friday, Jon had a two hour commute to LA, we were at LAX by 10pm, our flight took off at 1am. We arrived at Dallas at 6am CST, bought food, took the mini monorail to our next gate, Jon took a long nap and I watched the bags. Took off from Dallas at 10am CST and arrived in Liberia at 2pm CST. When we landed I was scared, it felt like the pilot had to slam on the breaks or else it would run out of runway. The pulled the stairs down and we walked to the warehouse looking airport. It was literally an old white warehouse with 3 booths that read "immigration" and 2 huge fans. Luckily we didn't have luggage checked in so our wait was just an hour. Our driver was waiting for us and took us to the end of the road up a hill to Ocotal Beach Resort.
Our hotel room was not your typical sky-rise elegant room, it was humble, one story with your back sliding door leading to the beach. We had 2 pina coladas and explored the rest of the hotel until dinner time. We fell asleep early that night, we were TIRED. Since we didn't have anything booked for Sunday we took it easy and rested.

March = A new page
Thank you March for bringing me the opportunity to now have HEALTH INSURANCE! I have been without medical coverage since September 2009 and luckily I didn't need medical attention during these stressful winter cold months.
March also brings me a new professional home to Handbags, Hoisery, and Fashion Accessories back at Del Amo A.
March also means COSTA RICA = our first official vacation with my love
Lots of new beginnings and hopefully lots more to come!
