New Pillows (for Nancy) and New 42" TV (for Jon)

Fun weekend with my love once again :) We ended January with less money than we made this month... kinda

Saturday Jonathan and I had a nice romantic date with fun and jokes throughout the night :)
Sunday we ran a bunch of couple errands like a married couple. We went to Sam's Club, Bed Bath and Beyond, Costco, Ikea and Target. We had so much fun, making each other laugh and trying to jam a huge tv box into my tiny car.

And I returned the brown pillows that I wasn't too sure of and bought orange world map pillows. At least Jon liked these better than the embroidered ones.

Thanks babes for a fun weekend!

Remodeling My Room - Almost Done!

I am almost done! I am loving the way things are turning out!

Yesterday I bought white matching pillow cases for my 4 pillows, my down comforter, white duvet, curtains, a curtain rod, and decorative pillows (which I'm not too sure of yet). My bed is almost done, just need minor details here and there added to give it some color. My window is done! It's got modern blinds, curtains, and a curtain rod! My walls still need some work. When I went to Ikea yesterday I was tempted to buy the painting from my favorite Showroom model, but decided to wait and buy real art.

Remodeling My Room Pt 3

When Evey was here, she, Kevin and I painted our room: YELLOW! I love it! I am one step closer to getting my room looking like an adults room. I emptied out the bookshelf, took the mini blinds off and the long dirty verticals and I replaced them with new feux blinds!

Thank you Evey and Kevin for all your help that day! I had lots of fun working on this with you two!

Now we just need bedding! I already bought a down comforter and just need the duvet, white king size pillow cases, and wall decoration!

Quick Bullet Point Updates

It's 8am and I haven't gone to sleep yet...

Personal:
-Jon and I have booked our flight and hotel for Costa Rica!!! I know which activities I want to do there and almost everything is set to go. We are beginning to discuss our next vacation, Jonathan is being very unselfish and mentioned going on our East Coast excursion going to as many baseball games and visiting as many baseball stadiums. And we also mentioned going to the All-Star Game! Which shocks me but makes me happy :)

-I miss Jon with all my heart, since he got placed and I went through holidays and inventory, we've only seen very little of each other. He's now beginning to work 6 day work weeks as well. I wish you well at work baby love, go get them truck load of loans!

Remodeling my room:
-My new orthopedic bed is amazing, I love it! I've emptied out the bookshelf and I'm in the process of trying to get rid of it. I took out the vinyl mini blinds and the vinyl verticals, and I replaced them with wider deux blinds. I am currently shopping for curtains and I'm waiting for the weather to be nice to paint my room mustard yellow. I already have the paint and the team ready to go. I am so excited!!! As I was emptying out my bookshelf one night, I thought to myself, "all the furniture Evey and I had in this room when we had just moved in is all out except for this bookshelf and now I'm taking it out." We used to have 2 twin beds, 2 desks, 2 desk chairs, a night stand that my mom took to her room, and that big bookshelf. Sorry bookshelf, you're coming out today.

Work:
-Just as the 2009 holidays were ending, I was hit by inventory. Just as inventory was around the corner, I was thrown a mens presale event to plan for. This is a never ending story because we were recently informed that we now have a deep dive to prepare for as well toward the end of the month. My inventory just ended about 2 hours ago and I realized on my drive home that I have about 600 dress shirts to fold. Do you know how long that is going to take? That means that everyone who opens must come in 1 or 2 hours before so we can tackle that monster that flared up again. In the mean time I will mention success with 91% participation, HIGHEST IN THE STORE, and 4.2 apps per 40 hours, 2nd highest. I plan to buy Jamba Gift cards for my team as a thank you for all their hard work.

Costa Rica Planning

COSTA RICA PLANNING

Photo from High Land Adventures

Photos from Cala Luna Hotel Gallery

My week has already been approved, and we are just waiting on Jonathan's. I also hope my Saturday was approved off so that we can take off Friday night, Saturday morning midnight/1am flights to arrive at Costa Rica around 2pm.

I have ideas of which hotels I want to stay at, which activities, which flights I want to take. I'M SOOOOO EXCITED!!!

I'm debating rather to stay at the Cala Luna Tamarindo Hotel or the Ocotal Beach Resort. If we stay at the Cala Luna and get an activities package it would cost $1800 including 5 activities (and almost ALL activities cost $100/person) or the Ocotal Beach Resort for $813 and we pay for the activities separate.

I just ordered waterproof camera case and waterproof personal items bag from Amazon and they should be getting here by next week.

New Year, New Decade, New Goals

Two Thousand Ten.

The answer to: "What do I want to do?" is lingering, and not just what do I want to do this year, but this is the beginning of an entirely new decade. Who do I want to become as I enjoy my twenties and start my thirties. But enough about age and time, lets talk goals, dreams, aspirations and possibilities!

Topics of interest:
  • Travel
  • School/Career
  • Personal - "Jonathan"
Travel
Where do I want to travel to? How often do I want to travel?

At this point in my life, no matter where I choose to go, it's PERFECT because I really have not gone out much. With that said I would love to bullet some points of interest, some even considered part of the new seven wonders.
  • The Great Wall of China, China
  • Machu Picchu, Peru
  • Chichen Itza, Mexico
  • The Roman Colosseum, Italy
  • Taj Majal, India
  • Visit Pyramids and ride Camels, Egypt
  • Empire State Building, Time Square, Niagara Falls, Statute of Liberty,New York
  • Japan, Costa Rica, Hawaii, Greece, Spain, France, Bermuda, Bahamas and a handful more, with JONATHAN!
School
How long do I want to work before I apply to grad school? What kind of graduate degree/s do I want to pursue?

I just graduated from the number one public university in the country this past year and I already want to start thinking about grad school, especially if I want to get a jump start on my career before we start a family. Jonathan and I have discussed going to school at the same time, going to school at different times and we have tried to think of the possibilities so that we still have income coming in and have a place to live. If anything I would probably think that he would go first or that we would go together. He's thinking apply this year to start in 2011, I'm thinking of starting in 2012 because I would love to be married and have a home by the time I go back to school.

As of last year I wanted to pursue a JD/MBA program, right now I'm just thinking MBA, but Jonathan also mentioned going back to school and getting an MA in Education. Getting the MA in education wouldn't be a bad idea for a couple of reasons, when I have a family I might want to go into teaching since the hours would be more family-friendly and I would have vacation around the same time as my kids, but do I want to teach high school? Community College? I DON'T KNOW. I hope to grasp a better idea as time continues. But I'm definitely going back to school. I MISS SCHOOL!!!

Personal
How much money do I want to save to buy a house? How much money do I need to save to have the wedding of my dreams?

I would of course need to save some money every year to be able to travel to every place I named above. Regarding a house and a wedding, Jonathan and I have had a number of conversations on both topics and we are confident we can both save enough to have a nice house and a fun and memorable wedding. Regarding the wedding, we have split ideas on number of guests and venues, but I still don't have a ring so these things still have time.

I really wanted to buy a house this year to qualify for the $8000 tax credit for first time home buyers but family comes first and if my parents need my help here, I will save my money and buy a home later.

So by the end of this decade, you will see Nancy with at least one graduate degree, with lots of pictures and stories from all the places she visited, she will most likely be married and have a house or two.

First thing to check off : Costa Rica Trip in March 2010!
